NES-Funded Courses 2010/11

NHS Education for Scotland (NES) commissioned courses from Replay Learning:

NHS Education for Scotland (NES) has commissioned a series of courses from Replay Learning for delivery to GOS-contracted optometrists practising in Scotland. NES has identified the areas of responsibility within the GOS contract which would benefit most from a targeted programme of training and has funded these courses to give Optometrists the chance to develop their skills in these key areas:

All courses are free to attend for optometrists practising in the NHS in Scotland and will take place across 2010 and 2011. CET Points will be available where applicable. Additionally the First Aid courses are open to anyone working in a practice providing GOS services in Scotland. The course results in HSE-approved Emergency First Aid at Work certification. More details about the content of each course can be found by clicking the links above.

There will also be some distance learning available to complement each course. This will help to reinforce the main learning points following each event. If you are unable to attend an event you can complete the distance learning to gain an understanding of each topic.

NHS Education for Scotland (NES), a Special Health Board, is the Health Service's own training organisation. It has statutory functions to enable it to fulfil its remit of promoting best practice in the education and lifelong learning of all NHS staff. NES is based in Edinburgh with offices in Aberdeen, Dundee, Glasgow and Inverness. It supports an educational infrastructure which meets the needs of NHS staff whilst supporting government policy.
