NHS Education for Scotland (NES) commissioned courses from Replay Learning:
NHS Education for Scotland (NES) has commissioned a series of courses from Replay Learning for delivery to GOS-contracted optometrists practising in Scotland. NES has identified the areas of responsibility within the GOS contract which would benefit most from a targeted programme of training and has funded these courses to give Optometrists the chance to develop their skills in these key areas:
- Developing Key Optometric Skills
- Record Keeping in Compliance with the Current GOS Regulations
- General Medicine and its Relationship with Optometry
- First Aid in Optometric Practice
All courses are free to attend for optometrists practising in the NHS in Scotland and will take place throughout 2010 and 2011. CET Points are available where applicable. The First Aid course is open to any staff working in a practice providing GOS services in Scotland and results in an HSE-approved Emergency First Aid at Work certification.
NHS Education for Scotland (NES), a Special Health Board, is the Health Service's own training organisation. It has statutory functions to enable it to fulfil its remit of promoting best practice in the education and lifelong learning of all NHS staff. NES is based in Edinburgh with offices in Aberdeen, Dundee, Glasgow and Inverness. It supports an educational infrastructure which meets the needs of NHS staff whilst supporting government policy.
